Kristi Albers
Kristi Albers won the Sun Country Junior State Championship while in
high school. She went on to become a three-time All-Conference golfer
at the University of New Mexico, where she was named First-Team All-American.
In 1984 she won the New Mexico State Invitational, the New Mexico Amateur Championship
and the Dick McGuire Invitational. Kristi turned pro in 1986. In 1987 she married Fred
Albers, an El Paso TV sportscaster. She credits her husband along with Fred Atkins and
Bill Eschenbrenner as the individuals who have most influenced her career. She and her
husband continue to live in El Paso with their young son Austin. Kristi now represents
Vista Hills Country Club and El Paso Country Club.
